An English-speaking driver collects you at your hotel and takes the inland road through Stranda and Sykkylven to Hellesylt, where the car rolls onto the ferry and you get the one thing no Ålesund boat tour includes: the full-length ferry crossing of the Geirangerfjord, about 65 minutes past the Seven Sisters — the crossing I cover separately in the ferry guide. After time in the village, the car climbs the Eagle Road’s eleven hairpins to the Ørnesvingen viewpoint, then returns through Eidsdal and the Linge ferry. It is the only tour of the five that combines the water-level view and the from-above view in one day.
